Biography

I was born in 1983 in southern Morocco, in the city of Laâyoune. My birth was marked by the absence of my father and the constant presence of a protective mother deeply engaged in creation through fashion design and modeling. Solitude, introspection, and a profound need to express this strange feeling shaped my early years, and I am convinced they are the origin of my current artistic aspirations. I devoted myself to drawing, imitating my mother in her joys, and creating shadow theaters with my hands. Over time, art transformed into a true experience of liberation, like an instinctive need for expression, which naturally led me to prioritize the artistic path in my later personal decisions, particularly when choosing my secondary studies. After obtaining my baccalaureate in plastic arts in Fez, I joined the Institute of Fine Arts in Tétouan. This four-year period was marked by experimenting with various techniques and materials in complete freedom. Upon graduating, I abandoned traditional art forms to turn toward contemporary creation, choosing a theme capable of conveying an essential quest focused on spiritual elevation while developing a practice where experience and mediums remain at the heart of a vision that is both artistic and humanistic. In 2010, my first creations were exhibited at the Balzac space in Kenitra. At that time, I participated in various exhibitions and art fairs in Morocco and abroad. I also completed an artist residency and exhibition at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris for six months, followed by one in Sète, and took part in a symposium in China. Currently, I am a part-time teacher of applied arts while continuing my artistic project.

My artistic practice stems from a quest for a salvific inner journey in response to a world where the weight of materiality is increasingly excessive and, alas, less and less spiritually stimulating. The exploration of the duality between materiality and spirituality inspires profound reflection, which I seek to transcribe into my artistic creations. The experience with my wall installations carries an invitation to an inner journey where the transparency and fragility of being bear witness to our encounter with ourselves. I sew natural stones with threads to awaken consciousness. I burn and tear fabric to create openings and passages, indicating the path of the journey. My work encourages reflection on the deep connections between the individual and their environment and aims to materialize the flow of thoughts and the subtle vibrations that pass through us. I work primarily at night, when noises cease and the world seems to pause. These suspended moments allow for intense focus and offer a precious opportunity to reconnect with oneself in a rediscovered serenity that I hope to spread...
